Cultural Beats: Visual Storytelling for Ukrainian Drum’n’Bass 

I’m thrilled to share our successful collaboration with Ukrainian DJ Dima Zago! He provided this beautiful music piece, and I created the visuals to bring it to life. Together, we crafted a captivating ETHNO Drum’n’Bass video that immerses you in the rhythm of modern Ukrainian electronic music while celebrating our rich ethno-cultural heritage. It was an absolute pleasure to work on this project!

Project Elements:

• Typography: I used the incredible Rutenia font by Ukrainian typographer Vasyl Chebanyk, designed after extensive research on ancient manuscripts, historical sites, and 10th-century Kyiv church murals. The font is based on the traditions of Ukrainian Rus’ and Cossack cursive writing.

• Visual Design: I created hand-drawn elements and icons inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidery, using one of the classic color palettes — black, red, and white — and illustrated them in Adobe Illustrator.

• Video Production: Editing and visual effects were completed in Adobe After Effects.
